13/09/2009 B.J.LEOPARD YELLOWS 3-5 N.W.SWIFTS BLACKS. U13 DIV 1.

Well this was the day I had been waiting for all summer.Having made the decision, along with the parents to play a year up in the top division and looking at the size of some of the Windsor lads I thought to myself........what have I done! But I know if the boys play to their potential they will be competitive at this level and boy what a game it was.The game kicked off and the boys were so tenacious in every position, they were awesome and against a very good Windsor side we actually started to dominate and deservedly took the lead after 20 minutes when Nikhils clever chip from an acute angle sailed over the keepers hands.1-0 up, what a start ! But as expected Windsor came back really strong and scored 3 times in the last ten minutes ,which was a bit disappointing but the lads gave everything in the first half,so no complaints, 3-1 down at the break. It must be said in between the 3 Windsor goals Ashley pulled off a world class save tipping a shot round the post........he must have springs in his boots ? Basically the half-time talk was to win the second half .Windsor came out strong and scored 2 early goals.....what a disaster. This seamed to stir the yellows into action and we started to take control of the game again Klaus pulled one back with a neat finish, then Tremaine raced clear and thumped the ball over the advancing keeper to put us back in the game 5-3 .Unfortunately time was not on our side and the ref blew for full time......but more importantly we drew the second half 2-2.
On reflection it was the ten minutes either side of half-time where we lost the game, Windsor scored their 5 goals, due to good finishing, but some errors on our part helped them on there way, but credit must go the lads for trying to play football in all areas of the pitch.
Today boys your effort, attitude and committement was superb ,and todays performance proves that you can compete at this level ......who knows what you can achieve ? All I know is that you all should be proud of yourselves for today along with everyone concerned with Windsor for giving us great entertainment.......long may it continue.

M.O.M- ASHLEY REES.

WELL DONE AGAIN BOYS .........KEEP BELEIVING IN YOURSELVES.

TAPLOW BOYS 0 BJ LEOPARDS YELLOW 11

After last weeks efforts against Windsor the boys were in there comfort zone again playing at their own age group in their quest for the holy grail , the Berks and Bucks Cup. In a game where we were strong favourites to win the boys played some lovely football resulting in some superb goals. With more clinical finishing it could have been more .It must be said that the Taplow boys never gave up and battled to the end.

WELL DONE BOYS !!
